Raptured Or Left Behind… What Are The Qualifications?

Qualifications for Partakers in the Rapture

The one and only necessary requirement for men, whether they are dead or alive, is to be “in Christ” (1 Thess. 4:16, 17; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 Cor. 15:23; Gal. 5:24). “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thess. 4:16-17). The major point of contention seems to be the definition of being “in Christ.” Most are deceived into thinking their profession alone defines them as being in Christ, regardless of sin that may be in their life. “Therefore if any man be in Christhe is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). That was a true case of allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture.

These qualifications are expressed in a nine-fold way in Scripture. One must: Be “Christ’s” (1 Cor. 15:23; Gal. 5:24); Be “in Christ” (1 Thess. 4:16, 17; 2 Cor. 5:17); Be “blessed and holy” (Rev. 20:4-6; Heb. 12:14); “Have done good” (Jn. 5:28, 29); Be in “the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn. 14:1-6); Be “worthy” (Lk. 21:34-36); Be in “the church” or “body of Christ” (Eph. 5:27; 1 Cor. 12:13). The body of Christ and the church are the same (Eph. 1:22, 23; Col. 1:18, 24); Purify “himself, even as he is pure” (l Jn. 1:7; 3:2, 3; 2 Cor. 7:1; Gal. 5:16-26; Heb. 12:14); and Be without spot or wrinkle . . . and without blemish” (Eph. 5:27). The conditions for receiving eternal life at death are also the same it takes to be raptured!

Reasons For Being Left Behind

Sin (Rom. 8:12-13; 1 Cor. 6:9-10), unforgiveness (Mat. 6:12-15), producing no fruit (Jn. 15:1-6), hating someone (1 Jn. 3:14-15), denying God (Mat. 10:33), unbelief (Rev. 21:8), and teaching or believing a false doctrine (Jas. 3:1; 2 Tim. 2:15-19; 2 Tim. 3 – 2 Tim. 4; Rev. 22:18-19). There is no sin on the narrow road that goes through the narrow gate into eternal life (Mat. 7:12-27; Lk. 13:24-27; Jn. 5:28-29; Gal. 6:7-8). You can never be in sin and in Christ at the same time. Choose one.

The bottom line is you need to repent and follow Jesus, Who alone is the only way to eternal life. He is eternal life (1 Jn. 5:20). He was killed for our sins, He rose in a glorified body that is immortal and incorruptible, and this is why He will come for those who are spotless, to get the glorious church, which are those who are not living in sin or have any sin accounted to them at that moment. The standard is sinlessness. For when He appears, so then we who are His children will be like Him; for we shall see him as he is (1 Jn. 3:1-10; Eph. 5:27).

Many in church every week are not the church. Many profess, but few possess. There are many believers, yet few of them follow. The call to a holy life according to the holy standard of God is for every one of us. How many will be raptured out of the 2.2 billion who claim Christianity? 100 million sounds like a lot, yet it’s a mere fraction at 22%. Out of those 2.2 billion, most are involved in cults, or different gospels with a different Jesus. For those who are taught the basics well, how many look just like the world?

Is 1 out of 5 an accurate number when you examine the many today professing the faith against the holy standard God has set in His Word? If you are one of the many who believe it is Jesus’ righteousness God looks at, therefore your future sins are automatically covered, you have been deceived.
